North Fort Myers, Florida- Florida Sailing
and Cruising School (FS&CS) will take advanced
nautical students on eight-day motoryacht cruises
from Fort Myers to Key West and back December
8-16 and again February 4-12.
Only four students are accepted for each course,
Offshore Powerboat Cruising (P-103).
The course is designed to strengthen students'
pratical offshore cruising skills. Students
plan, prepare and provision for the cruise.
They must maintain the vessel's systems while
underway, navigate offshore and at day and night,
gain speed and proficiency in marine electronics,
secure the vessel for overnight anchorages,
and more.
To participate, students must have taken and
passed Inland Powerboat Cruising (P102) or
demonstrate equivalent inland and coastal cruising
experience.
FS&CS is also accepting reservations for
Inland Powerboat Cruising and Basic Power
Boating, both three-day liveaboard courses,
and for Combination Handling and Cruising
(P-101 and P-102), a comprehensive six-day
course. First Mate, a two-day course
combining boat and classroom instruction, teaches
the first mate on board the safe boating and
seamanship skills necessary to be an effective
first mate on a recreational powerboat.
